SLOVENIA, June 1 - In May, the Slovenian Water Agency continued major flood protection and rehabilitation activities across the country. Key developments included ongoing investments in the Middle Sava region, flood safety and coastal protection works along the sv. Jernej kanal in Sečovlje, and the presentation of the Tunjščica dry retention basin project in Komenda. An agreement was signed with the Municipality of Ljubno to continue post-flood recovery efforts, while significant flood protection projects on the Mura River neared completion. The month also featured the international LIFE2RIVERS congress in Ljubljana, which highlighted river restoration, climate adaptation, and nature-based solutions for water management.
