Today, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office joins law enforcement agencies across the nation in observing Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, Peace Officers Memorial Day honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting their communities. Observed annually on May 15 during National Police Week, this day serves as a reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness displayed by law enforcement officers every day.

We proudly remember our own fallen heroes whose legacy and sacrifice will never be forgotten:

⭐️ Sheriff Godfrey Click Kimball – End of Watch: August 17, 1934

⭐️ Deputy Sheriff Robert Lloyd Cloaninger – End of Watch: August 3, 1919

⭐️ Deputy Sheriff John H. Miller – End of Watch: June 30, 1917
