End of Watch: Retired K-9 Rex 🖤
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired K-9 Rex.
Rex faithfully served the citizens of Iredell County and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years, helping deputies locate narcotics and apprehend dangerous criminals. Throughout his career, Rex was a loyal partner, protector, and friend.
Rex retired in March 2024 and was able to enjoy two wonderful years at home with Sergeant Caskaddon and his loved ones, where he adapted well to retirement life and enjoyed simply roaming around and being part of the family.
Rex will be greatly missed by his handlers, fellow deputies, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Thank you for your years of faithful service and unwavering loyalty.
A special thank you to @sheldonsk9s for helping care for Rex during his retirement by assisting with veterinary bills, food, and medications.
