On May 13, 2026, the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners voted to execute a construction contract for the Superior Courthouse Exterior Renovations project with Homer Contracting, Inc., for a total value of $5,570,000. The project was bid under Massachusetts G.L. c.149 44A-44H seeking general contractors specializing in historic building restoration, where based off the bid review process Homer was the lowest qualified bidder. The bid had a filed sub-bid component where Homer will be utilizing Fernandes Masonry for masonry, Advantage Glass Holding for windows, and performing painting component within their organization.

Over the next month, County staff, ClearPath the owner’s project manager, Gale Associates the project architect, and the Massachusetts Trial Courts will begin coordination with Homer to prepare a construction specific schedule and coordinate the necessary administration tasks prior to starting work. The anticipated construction start date is July 6, 2026.
