I am excited to announce that the ICfL’s new deputy state librarian is John Thill. John brings 23 years of library experience and 12 years of management experience to the role. He is currently the deputy director of the Ada Community Library. He has previously served as the director of the Juneau Public Library in Alaska and the assistant director of the Meridian Library District. He has extensive experience with strategic planning, project management, needs assessments, and staff training.

Due to the ICfL’s current office closure and existing projects at Ada Community Library, John will start full-time with the ICfL on May 18. He will participate in our Board of Library Commissioners’ Spring 2026 Board Tour on April 30 and May 1.
