The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) is pleased to announce the publication of the Digital Resources at Your Library: 2026 Survey Report. The ICfL began tracking digital resource trends in public libraries in 2022. The report covers data on internet access, devices, digital literacy, tech support, online resources, and more.
Public libraries are a vital support for Idahoans. They fill in many gaps in existing services – from lending hotspots to tech tutoring. The report showcases the importance of digital resources, while highlighting the struggles that many libraries face.
The ICfL is committed to continuing to provide support. We have resources and training for library staff and Idahoans. Below are some resources we hope you’ll take advantage of.
- The Digital Resources Newsletter provides information on events, training, and featured resources.
- For training for staff and patrons, we have several options:
- Idaho Digital Skills, which includes self-guided tech tutorials, a robust resource directory, and tools for trainers.
- Niche Academy, which includes interactive online tutorials for tech topics, customer service, and databases.
- Libraries Linking Idaho (LiLI) databases, including LearningExpress Library, which has courses, e-books, and test preparation for adult core skills, career exams, and high-school equivalency.
