Staff from California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC), visited young students during Read Across America Week.
A local elementary school was transformed into the whimsical wonderland of Seussville filled with colorful decorations and the familiar characters of Dr. Seuss.
Among the special guests invited to read to the students were Lt. Mark Rosales, Sgt. Jamie Hernandez and Sgt. Gustavo Aguayo.
The LAC staff were eager to share their love of reading with the children.
After the readings, they took a few moments to talk to the children about the importance of reading and how it helps them in their jobs. They also showed the different equipment they use during the course of their workday.
