PENNSYLVANIA, March 17 - hyperbaric oxygen, transcranial magnetic stimulation and
tailored exercise, demonstrating promise in veteran traumatic
brain injury care and illustrating Pennsylvania's leadership and
potential accessory role in the TBI Innovation Grant Program
established under Senate Bill 3130; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
support the bipartisan Federal Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury
Adaptive Care Opportunities Nationwide Act and urge the Congress
of the United States to pass the measure to expand and improve
care for Pennsylvania veterans with chronic mild traumatic brain
injury, including through innovative neurorehabilitation
strategies that promote mental health and prevent suicide; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
encourage partnerships between the United States Department of
Veterans Affairs and Pennsylvania institutions, especially
academic, clinical and community-based organizations, to compete
for and participate in the TBI Innovation Grant Program
established under Senate Bill 3130; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
call for continued collaboration between Federal and State
officials to monitor the impact of the TBI Innovation Grant
Program established under Senate Bill 3130, identify best
practices and facilitate ongoing adoption across this
Commonwealth to benefit veterans; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
the President of the United States, the Majority Leader and
Minority Leader of the United States Senate, the Speaker and
Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives
and each member of Congress representing Pennsylvania.
