SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On October 25, 2023, at approximately 1645 hours, Troopers assigned to the Williston Barracks initiated a motor vehicle stop on US Route 7 in the Town of Charlotte and subsequently initiated a DUI investigation as a result of observations made by the Trooper. During the course of the investigation, Ashley Thurgate (34) of Charlotte, VT was found to have provided the investigating Trooper with false information in an effort to deflect the investigation.

Thurgate was issued a citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division on December 19, 2023 at 0830 hours to answer to the charge of False Information to a Police Officer.

The Vermont State Police was assisted in this incident by the Shelburne Police Department.
