SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Departments of Agriculture (IDOA) and Labor (IDOL) are announcing this morning a delayed opening for amusement rides at the Illinois State Fair.

Ride safety inspections were canceled on Wednesday due to the rain.

To ensure the safety of fairgoers and amusement riders, IDOL ride inspectors are working this morning in an effort to permit the rides for operation this afternoon at 3 p.m.
