NurseHack4Health™ Takes Direct Action in Solving Nursing Challenges

The Society of Nurse Scientists Innovators Entrepreneurs & Leaders, Johnson & Johnson, and Microsoft announce a new NurseHack4Health™ in September 2023.

BOSTON, MASSAHUSETTS, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ -- The Society of Nurse Scientists Innovators Entrepreneurs & Leaders (SONSIEL), Johnson & Johnson, and Microsoft have teamed up again to host the next NurseHack4Health (NH4H) virtual Hackathon, to be held September 22-24, 2023.

This exciting event will bring nurses and other healthcare innovators from around the globe together to ideate and pitch ideas to “Catalyze a Healthy Environment for Nurses and the Patients They Care For.” The event will feature two tracks for participants to consider and select teams in each track will have an opportunity to further progress their idea with funding or developmental opportunities.

Track 1: Nurse-led interdisciplinary teams from the same health system are eligible to participate in Track 1. Selected Finalist teams from the September NH4H event will be invited to participate in a NH4H Innovation Accelerator this fall, followed by a November Pitch-A-Thon, supported by ALL IN: WellBeing First for Healthcare and the Johnson & Johnson Foundation, with the opportunity to receive up to $150,000 in grant funding to bring their ideas to life.

Track 2: Individual nurse hackers on nurse-led teams comprised of individuals from different health systems or organizations will be eligible to receive a Drexel-SONSIEL Nursing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate Program Scholarship.

According to the 2022 Nurse Work Environment Report by AACN, an unhealthy healthcare work environment/culture is a key factor in nurses leaving their roles or the profession altogether.

“Nurses know where the challenges and opportunities are,” said Hiyam Nadel, MBA, RN, FIEL, President of SONSIEL. “Listening to nurses on the frontlines is the fastest way to create a working environment where they and their patients can thrive.”

Nurses’ invaluable hands-on patient experience, resourcefulness and innate innovative mindsets drive transformative healthcare change. And now, more than ever, we need to listen to, advocate for, elevate, support, and empower our nursing workforce to continue to catalyze systemic change to the healthcare work environment for themselves and their patients.

Registration opens on June 15, 2023. To learn more and register for our upcoming Hackathon, please visit our link: https://nursehack4health.org
