Troopers Investigate Whiteford Road Crash

On Sunday, March 26th shortly after 3:00 pm, Maryland State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision with reported injuries at the intersection of Maryland Rt. 136 (Whiteford Rd) and Maryland Rt. 646 (Prospect Road). Preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Toyota Rav 4, operated by a 20 year old Bel Air man, was traveling north on Rt. 646 and failed to stop for the stop sign at Rt. 136. A Ford F-450, operated by a 63 year old Whiteford man, was traveling north on Rt. 136 and collided with the Rav 4. The front passenger of the Rav 4, a 14 year old boy from Bel Air, was flown to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Trooper 1. The operators of the two vehicles were transported by ground to regional hospitals for treatment. A State Police collision reconstructionist assumed the investigation.
