Chuck D Reveals New Hip-Hop Docuseries

29 Jul 2022

The groundbreaking hip hop pioneer, activist and artist Chuck D has shared information about his upcoming docuseries, Fight The Power: How Hip Hop Changed The World. The four-part docuseries - created alongside PBS and BBC Music, developed by Chuck D and his producing partner, Lorrie Boula - will premiere on 31 January 2023.

The series tells the story of hip-hop through first-hand accounts by some of hip-hop's key players and archival footage. It will explore the genre as an artform and type of expression, as well as its place in American history - serving as an anthology to the music.

'The hip hop community has, from the start, been doing what the rest of media is only now catching up to. Long before any conglomerate realized it was time to wake up, hip-hop had been speaking out and telling truths. Working with PBS and BBC is an opportunity to deliver these messages through new ways and help explain hip hop's place in history and hopefully inspire us all to take it further.' - Chuck D

Earlier this month, Chuck D's upcoming edition and first fine art book Livin' Loud was announced for pre-order.

Featuring over 250 of his paintings, sketches and drawings, Livin' Loud includes a commentary of over 13,000 words in which Chuck D traces his musical and artistic trajectory offering unprecedented insight into his life and work. Chuck D's edition of 1,200 copies worldwide comes in three different art sets, each numbered and signed by the author.
