On the above date and time VSP troopers along with Fire and rescue personnel responded to a single vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer truck hauling silage. Investigation revealed that vehicle #1 was traveling SB on Maquam Shore Road. While in the vicinity of residence # 416 the truck went off the west side of the road and as operator #1 attempted to correct the unit the trailer made contact with a utility pole and large tree. The utility pole was broken into several pieces as a result of the crash. This caused a power outage to several residents in the area along with interruptions to cable and phone service. The trailer sustained significant contact damage to the side and one of the axles. TDI towing responded to the scene to remove the truck and trailer. Swanton Electric responded to replace the broken utility pole and restore electric service to those affected. Drugs or alcohol were not factors in this crash.
