Wish upon a … Fish?
Wish Fish can be a tangible reminder of your regard for someone. Each of the 25 cunningly designed little fish comes engraved with a wish on the back – for a happy birthday, or championship or more. They are about the same price as a fancy greeting card, but are likely to remain on your friend or family member’s key chain as a long-time reminder of your friendship or love. There is even a safety fish that reminds the person carrying it to slow down, don’t text and buckle up.
Down through the centuries there have been many tales of magical fish who granted wishes, fish that gave wisdom if eaten, dueling magicians who turned in to fish, and – of course – the miracle of the loaves and fishes.
There is nothing mystical about these little fishes – unless you regard the power of positive thinking as mystical. The product design is by Jill Clarida Ascari, a clinical psychologist who wanted to find a way to put something positive into the lives of her clients. She was inspired by her two children, as she designed each one of the little fish to carry a good wish to a client or to one of their friends. She has been working for the last 15 years trying to bring more positive values and events into lives.
Just the words “Wish fish” bring a sense of whimsy to mind. Once you see these 25 whimsical little fishes, you cannot help but smile. So just visiting the wish fish line Kickstarter crowdfunding page is good for a little bit of happiness. The little fish are adorable – and would make cute birthday gifts.– and the planned distribution date is March 2015.
You can light up somebody’s life just by sending them the link to the website – these little keychain critters are just that super cute. Unlike a lot of crowdfunding events, they are super affordable, as well. Pledge amounts start at $1.00 and end at $25.00 – a sum that will allow you to reel in 10 of these adorable little finny creatures.
Once the Kickstarter rewards are completed and the Wish Fish line of products start to make a profit, 10% of all sales proceeds will be used to support children who suffer from hunger or chronic illness.
So what do these funny little fish look like? One is dressed up like Santa – so do think about Christmas 2015. He’d make a perfect gift. One is a pink and purple princess. There is a unicorn, a baseball fish, a soccer fish, and even a lady bug fish. Each cheerful little fish has a bright smile on its face. You can bet these are going to be treasured long after a pasteboard greeting card has been thrown away. They are perfect for birthdays, best wishes before a big game, or just a friendly pick-me-up for a friend – or even for yourself.
You can help Dr. Ascari spread good cheer and happiness throughout the world by supporting her crowdfunding campaign – and garner a good bit of joy for yourself, as well. You don’t have to wear fins or scales – or be attached to a keychain to see that it just makes good sense to spread a few smiles around. If you have not so much as a dollar in your pocket, you can help by spreading the word. Like these fun little fish on Facebook. Send up a whole chorus of Tweets on Twitter. Talk about them over the back fence to your neighbor – they really are that darling an idea. If your day is feeling a little blue, if you feel sad and let down, just take a few minutes and spend some time just looking at the 25 designs. Let the Knight fish chase away your foes or the Mermaid charm you with her happy smile. Or maybe even the Fairy Fish will give to you one of those magical fish wishes.
