Elegant Clinical, Building a Safe Haven
Elegant Clinical is a vocational center from East Windsor, Connecticut. This center is dedicated to assisting disabled individuals and those in need.
EAST WINDSOR, CONNECTICUT, UNITED STATES, November 19, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Elegant Clinical is a vocational center whose goal is to make people in need, and those with disabilities, less dependent on the state system in Connecticut. In order to achieve this objective Elegant offers a day program, job placements and home supports. This multilayered approach towards bringing out the best in people has been built and improved upon for over a decade. Elegant Clinical is both a DDS Qualified Provider for the State of Connecticut but also an Approved Provider for the Department of Developmental Services, Autism Division. Dr. Karen Lapienski is the founder and CEO of Elegant. Karen holds a doctorate in psychology and she draws on her extensive experience and educational background daily. This allows Elegant to come up with new ways to foster a sense of inner growth to its members.A greenhouse of healing and growing is the next step towards helping this community. This program will particularly help people who suffer from mental illness by creating a safe haven. The proposed greenhouse is also a place to allow for both literal and spiritual rebuilding. This project would be similar to the current Keney Park Sustainability Project in which people with special abilities are enabled to make furniture. Both projects have the dual benefits of sustainability and are avenues to prove that everyone has a purpose regardless of disability. Many of the people served cannot handle sustain employment. This initiative will improve the physical, mental and vocational levels of all involved. As the greenhouse will serve as a groundbreaking spiritual program there is a real opportunity to duplicate this idea in order to help people who are in a similar situation across America. This architecture will ideally serve as a beacon of spirituality and sustainability.
Elegant was created in order to answer an assessed need for quality care to people at risk. This quality approach to building lives was found to be lacking in both state systems and the private sector when the company was founded. Their mission statement is to move both people and staff forward to achieve their dreams and independence. This mission is followed on a daily basis as Elegant uses a strong sense of core value to build relationships. By empowering members Elegant helps to provide them with gainful employment, social skills, vocational skills as well as independence at all levels. This group has placed a very large and underrated emphasis on allowing day staff to make good wages in order to serve clients. This allows staff to take care of others better. By treating qualified staff very well, Elegant is able to retain these important individuals and create a sense of consistency and attachment. The services provided by Elegant include education about proper hygiene, appropriate dress and the ethics of good citizenship. There is also a real emphasis on social skills. For some members getting through the day without anger and aggressive behavior can be considered a victory. The best way to do this is to foster positive initiatives like the proposed greenhouse.
In order to help build the Elegant Clinical greenhouse project funding is required. In response to this need a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is in place until December 10th. This is a rare opportunity for funders to create a lasting legacy of their own and to make a real improvement to the situation of people who are in need of support. There are many potential crowdfunding rewards available:
• $50 – A brick on the spiritual path of healing. Appreciation on the Elegant website and Facebook page.
• $100 – A bench engraved with your name and favorite quote along with appreciation on the Elegant website and Facebook page.
• $500 – Your name on a large coin placed in the fountain of wishes. Your name engraved on a brick of this groundbreaking program.
• $1,000 – Your name on a plaque of wood and favorite quote so that all can see it on the pillars in the greenhouse. A brick with your name on it and a coin in the fountain of wishes.
Elegant Clinical believes that anything is possible for individuals. There are evidence-based strategies and treatment, including this greenhouse project, to see this vision forward. The end result of this work is the creation of productive healthier citizens.
