Alastair Tembylton, Friends With a Monster

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Samuel Horton has tackled the difficult issues of sexual abuse and child abuse in his new narrative film Alastair Tembylton which is set to begin production. This film follows the journey of the deeply troubled title character. Starting from a very dark childhood history, Alastair eventually grows up with uncontrollable urges and obvious emotional scarring. The difficulties that Alastair faces manifest themselves through extremely troubled behavior including perversion. One mid-fall night Alastair, who is in his mid-20s, rapes an older woman named Clarice Hamill. Clarice is an innocent bystander who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Alastair is eventually convicted of rape yet he receives an early release. Alastair’s release is, in part, contingent on regularly meeting with psychologist Noah Mayer. Noah has limited success in helping Alastair face his dark past. It can be speculated by the audience that there are demons that Alastair is unable to face from times when he was a victim in his own life. Through this complex and broken character, the audience has the unique perspective of exploring the psyche of a sexual assault offender. This film offers a complete understanding of the long-term psychological ramifications of sexual abuse and everyone that it affects.

Alastair Tembylton is presented in an open and honest way. Alastair is clearly a sick individual. Part of the story is exploring what created this sickness in the first place and also how it can spread. Unable to cope with reality Alastair becomes determined to find Clarice and have her save him thereby adding to Clarice’s intense trauma and her own emotional scarring from their first encounter. Alastair Tembylton has incorporated actual testimony from psychologists, sex offenders and victims of sexual abuse. This creates a sense of realism which would be otherwise impossible to generate. The end result is a film which has a prevailing theme of a loss of control for both the victim and the offender. This work follows everyone including the offenders which we do not want to think about. This film intends to tackle its sensitive subject matter tastefully and also provide a new perspective on the horrific acts of child and sexual abuse.

Alastair Tembylton features a very talented cast including Jordan David who played ghost Kevin Gedman in American Horror Story. Jordan has also appeared on several other television shows including Everybody Hates Chris, The Mentalist and Criminal Minds. Jordan will star as the tragic titular figure Alastair. Jennifer Lynn Warren will play the female lead Clarice Hamill. Jennifer played the zombie Borquita LaLaurie for six episodes of American Horror Story. The crew behind the movie consists of writers, producers and cinematographers who have years of experience to draw from. Talented Berklee College of Music graduate Jake Shields is also making his motion picture debut as a composer.
