3D-P, the leading resource for technologically-advanced onboard open-sourced computing platforms and wireless networks, announced today that BHP Billiton has signed an agreement to make 3D-P the outsourced single source network vendor. This global agreement begins immediately with the Yandi Mine Site and Jimblebar Mine Site, both in Western Australia.
“Our Intelligent Endpoints have been deployed in BHP’s mines for some time now. Naming 3D-P vendor of choice just makes good business sense,” said Sean McClary, 3D-P’s Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. “BHP’s decision to go single source network will allow them greater efficiencies, productivity and will increase revenue.”
BHP Billiton, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia is the world’s largest mining company, and 3D-P’s ruggedized computing platforms are deployed in the largest mines across the globe. 3D-P products enable real-time control and visibility of every facet of a company’s mining assets and resources.
