Provides Feeding Service for Animals ‘Sheltering in Place’
SPOKANE COUNTY, WA – The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS) will be closed for adoptions on Saturday, but will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Fire Intake of pets and recovered strays – and also for owners to reclaim lost pets. SCRAPS is located at 6815 E. Trent Avenue, Spokane Valley.
In addition, SCRAPS has trained and authorized Animal Protection Officers with support personnel that are entering areas behind fire-control lines (when conditions allow) to provide food and water for animals that are sheltering in place. To request these services, Spokane County residents should call (509) 477-6868 or email [email protected] and leave a detailed message with the following information:
- Name and contact information
- Property address
- The type, number and location of animals
- Feeding and watering instructions
- Any medical, behavioral or safety concerns
- Any additional details responders may need
- Access information (if keys are required, they must be delivered to SCRAPS (6815 E. Trent Ave)
This service is dependent on fire conditions, official access authorization, staffing, and available resources. Submitting a request does not guarantee that personnel will reach a property and/or provide ongoing service. Residents must not enter evacuation zones or violate road closures to care for animals!
