The Texas Legislature created three grant programs to augment local funding for eligible law enforcement and ambulance services. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has distributed the money to sheriffs' offices, constables, prosecutors and rural ambulance services throughout the state, providing Texas counties with much-needed resources to create safer and healthier communities.
