Incident Reported in Billings County
BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of an electrical outage that led to tanks overflowing at the TRMU water plant, approximately 16 miles northeast of Medora, on November 20, 2025.
Scout Energy Management LLC reported Friday that 500 barrels of produced water were released into containment on November 20, 2025. As of November 21, 2025, 480 barrels have been recovered.
A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
