Wilgreen Lake Improvements
Big improvements were made at Wilgreen Lake here in Madison County in 2023. Madison County officials kicked off the improvement project in May 2023 during a joint kickoff ceremony with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The 6-month construction project to improve Wilgreen Lake included:
- new paved parking areas,
- updated boat ramp
- New kayak launch
- New courtesy dock
- Updated boat slips with new decking
The upgrades are made possible from a recent grant of $250,000 to The Madison County Fiscal Court and the Division of Fish and Wildlife. The partners worked together on the project to implement the updates.
Wilgreen Lake Marina is located close to I-75, off of Exit 87. Turn west off I-75, drive 1.6 miles, and turn left onto Curtis Pike. Drive 1.8 miles and turn left on Wilgreen Lake Rd. It is about .5 miles to the lake from there.
