Outdoor Warning Siren Maintenance Map
Madison County Emergency Management will conduct scheduled maintenance and testing of the county’s outdoor warning siren system from Tuesday, February 17, through Thursday, February 26, 2026, including weekend work.
Maintenance will be performed by ANS Services on behalf of Madison County. Residents may see maintenance crews working at siren locations throughout the county during this time.
Maintenance Schedule & Map
Maintenance will occur in phases, with different areas scheduled on different dates. A color-coded maintenance map showing scheduled work by area and date is available to help residents identify when maintenance is planned in their area.
What Residents May Hear
During maintenance, sirens may emit short, audible, low “growling” sounds as part of testing and battery replacement procedures. These sounds are normal, expected, and not an indication of an emergency.
Receiving Emergency Alerts
Outdoor warning sirens are intended to alert people who are outdoors that an emergency is occurring or imminent. These sirens are not designed to be heard indoors. Residents should be sure they can receive emergency information in multiple ways.
Madison County encourages residents to sign up for RAVE emergency alerts and notifications at madisoncountyky.gov/alerts to receive information by phone, text, or email.
