March Proclaimed Be A Children’s Champion Month

Madison County Proclaims March as Be A Children’s Champion Month

Madison County has proclaimed March 2026 as Be A Children’s Champion Month, recognizing the importance of supporting children and families throughout the community.

Recognizing Leighton Foley

On Thursday morning, Judge/Executive Reagan Taylor visited Waco Elementary School to present the proclamation on behalf of the Madison County Fiscal Court during a special assembly.

During the assembly, Judge Taylor also recognized Leighton Foley as the winner of this year’s Children’s Champions billboard contest.

Her artwork earned the top honor in the contest. In recognition of this achievement, March 5, 2026, will be recognized as “Leighton Foley Day” in Madison County.

Supporting Children in Madison County

The proclamation recognizes the role adults play in protecting and caring for children. In addition, it highlights the responsibility of schools, organizations, and service agencies to promote awareness and encourage young people to remain drug and alcohol free.

Furthermore, the environments where children live, learn, and grow influence their development. Homes, schools, child care settings, and community spaces should support healthy growth and positive learning opportunities.
