The Butler County Treasurer’s Motor Vehicle Department would like to remind you that if your last name begins with the letters E, F or G your tags are due for renewal by May 31st, 2026.

There are several convenient options available for you to renew your vehicle tags. You may do it online through the iKan website https://ikan.ks.gov/ . You may mail in your renewal notice that you received in the mail along with proof of insurance or you may come into either one of the Motor Vehicle offices. The El Dorado office is located on the 2nd Floor of the Historic Courthouse at 205 W. Central Ave. El Dorado, KS, and the Western Office is between Augusta and Andover at the Augusta Airport, at 4800 W. Beech Dr. Augusta, KS.

If you choose to come into one of the two conveniently located offices you may get in-line before you come in by visiting their webpage at https://www.bucoks.com/395/Motor-Vehicle under the GET IN LINE NOW section, choose which office you are going to and enter the information requested on the screen. You will receive text messages to let you know your place in line and your approximate wait time. You can also move yourself back in line if you need extra time.
