Small Cities Community Development Block Grant-2nd Public Hearing
CITY OF BRISTOL, FLORIDA
The City of Bristol plans to apply to Florida Commerce for a FFY 2025 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the Neighborhood Revitalization category for grant funding in the amount of $754,556. The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low- and moderate-income persons are as follows:
| Activity Name | CDBG Funding Requested | LMI Benefit |
| Administration | $35,046 | NA |
| Engineering Design, Permitting, Contract Development & Inspection | $70,520 | NA |
| Deep-water Production Well | $525,000 | >/= 51% |
| Water system improvements & fire hydrants | $124,000 | >/= 51% |
The City of Bristol’s CDBG project proposes critical improvements to the municipal water system including construction of a new production well and replacement of aging waterlines and fire hydrant installations along Shuler Lane. The city previously received CDBG-MIT funding for construction of the new production well, however bids received for well construction exceed the budget in the CDBG-MIT award. The production well is a critical component of the City’s water system, intended to provide sufficient water supply, pressure, and fire flow capacity to meet both current and future demand and maintain service if one well is offline. The city also proposes to expand infrastructure improvements to the Shuler Lane area, where aging and undersized waterlines and limited fire protection infrastructure currently limit water quality, system reliability, and emergency response capability.
The City of Bristol does not expect that anyone will be displaced because of the CDBG-funded activities proposed above. If any persons are displaced because of the planned activities, the City will assist them as described in the City’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at Bristol City Hall located at 12444 NW Virginia G Weaver Street, Bristol, FL.
