Yesterday, April 21, 2026, the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office conducted a Missing Persons investigation for Mary Schenck, 77. Mary and her son Coy Stolpe, 44, reside in a home on Blue Bird Dr. in Georgetown, CO. At the request of other family members, the Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at the residence around 8am yesterday. Deputies were unable to contact anyone at the home and did not have exigent cause to force entry. A short time later, family members were able to gain access into the home and reported Mary missing around 10am yesterday.  

Evidence at the home and recent unusual behavior heightened concern for Mary’s whereabouts and her safety. A swift investigation led detectives to believe Coy, who was considered armed and dangerous, may be at an RV camp in Afton, WY. Multiple Wyoming law enforcement agencies coordinated a tactical approach to contact Coy at an RV on the campground. Around 10pm last night, law enforcement took Coy into custody and Mary was located unharmed in the RV. Currently, Coy faces a charge of Exploitation of an At-Risk Adult, a Class 3 Felony. The 5^th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will determine final charges. Coy may also face additional weapons and drug-related charges in Wyoming. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise through the judicial process.
