DPS Arrests 31 Illegal Immigrants in Maverick County
DEL RIO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) this morning arrested 31 illegal immigrants for criminal trespass in Maverick County as part of Operation Lone Star (OLS).
These arrests stem from an increase in attempted unlawful border crossings between the ports of entry in the Normandy area.
The group of illegal immigrants included 20 females and 11 males from Ecuador, Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Cuba. All 31 were transported to the Val Verde Processing Center and face criminal trespass charges.
