TickITplus certification ensures the quality of software

/EINPresswire.com/ Many companies developing software applications for the public sector, including the MOD and the NHS, are required to deliver 'quality certificated' solutions to their customers. Often, winning new business depends on whether the company has an appropriate certification to prove the quality and reliability of their products.

Launched in 2011, the TickITplus certification scheme is designed to ensure that an organisation's software and associated services are developed using a process-driven approach that consistently meets and exceeds the requirements of its customers. The key to sustainable quality is continued process improvement (CPI). In this regard, TickITplus introduces capability assessment methodology together with the accommodation of other related international standards which include ISO9001, ISO20000 and ISO27001.

The first step towards becoming TickITplus certificated is to qualify at the Foundation Level on the scheme. One of the most comprehensive TickITplus Foundation Training courses is offered by IT Governance Ltd, an accredited training organisation. The next sitting takes place on 15 and 16 December and there are still some places available (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3334).

This 2-day TickITplus Foundation Training course is strongly recommended for all entrants to the scheme, and is intended to prepare delegates for taking the TickITplus Foundation Examination (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3334).

The TickITplus Foundation Training course provides delegates with an understanding of the TickITplus concepts and materials, as well as an overview of the scheme and its operation, covering all basic concepts. Delegates will understand the role of the Base Processes Library (BPL) and will be able to ensure that the quality of their software meets the expectation of their customers.

Useful readings for everyone new to the TickITplus scheme are the TickITplus Base Processes Library (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3460), the TickITplus Kick Start Guide (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3469) and the newly published TickITplus Core Scheme Requirements (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3712). The latter specifies the requirements for undertaking an accredited TickITplus assessment that meets the audit requirements set out in ISO17021 and follows the principles in ISO/IEC 15504-2.

Organisations can book delegates onto the TickITplus Foundation Course online: www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/3334. Course places can also be booked directly with the friendly, helpful IT Governance service centre team on telephone number +44 (0)845 070 1750. Larger organisations can make bookings or purchases with a purchase order, either by telephone, or by e-mail to servicecentre@itgovernance.co.uk. IT Governance also welcomes overseas delegates on all its courses and can provide guidance on travel and hotel arrangements.
