Iridium Contingency Exercise and Public Services Committee meeting
This week, Iridium LLC successfully demonstrated their capability to restore their maritime safety services according to the requirements of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) to IMSO’s Director General, Mr. Laurent Parenté. IMSO’s Head of Operational Services, Mr. Halil Keskin and Technical Officer, Mr. Philip Lane also participated in the exercise.
The exercise was followed by a Public Services Committee (PSC) meeting (photo), which discussed matters related to the provision of the recognized mobile satellite services in the GMDSS as well as relevant policy and administrative matters. The PSC meeting was attended by Mr. Bryan Hartin, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Kyle Hurst, Director Maritime Safety and Security Services and Mr. Mark Lawson, Maritime Safety and Security Manager from Iridium.
