Press release from the North Coast Co-op:
North Coast Co-Op’s Seeds of Change Collects small change donations from its members and other shoppers.
Voting is underway to choose the top nine out of 57 local nonprofit organizations who applied to be part of the Co-op’s Seeds for Change Round-up Program. There are voting stations in the Arcata and Eureka Co-ops, as well as the option to vote online at northcoast.coop/vote.
Since 2019, the Seeds for Change round up program has donated over $346,000 to local non-profit organizations. Seeds for Change allows Co-op members and customers to round up their Co-op purchases to the nearest dollar with those extra cents given directly to local organizations that are working to better our community. Each month, a different recipient receives the roundups collected in the store that month. This program is a simple but powerful way for the Co-op to engage its members and shoppers in fulfilling the international cooperative principle of caring for the community. Applications to participate in the program are available annually in September.
