Rebecca Marie Whitlow (Cadenas) (62) of Mckinleyville,California passed away in Vancouver, Washington August 2 ,2023 surrounded by her family who shared a great bond and love for her.
Rebecca was born October 9,1960 in Havana, Cuba to her parents Carlos and Alicia Cadenas. She was raised with her sister Alicia who became her life long best friend. Rebecca moved to the United States as a young girl with her mom and sister; her father had become a prisoner of war in Cuba. Rebecca grew up in Glendale, California where she met her Husband William Whitlow while she was working at the DMV. Rebecca and William quickly fell in love, got married and had three handsome boys together. They raised their boys for the majority of their childhood in Humboldt County, California. Rebecca and William both shared a great love for their three boys and ten grandchildren.
Rebecca (grandma) as we all called her had a great love for Jesus all of her life. Life was never easy for her, but she had Jesus by her side everyday; which gave her a great hope and peace for eternity with her heavenly Father. Grandma’s passion and love for Christ has been passed down to many of her family members. She has been such a great example of an angel on earth; such a sweet and innocent soul!
Grandma had such a great love for God, her family, friends, gardening, knitting, baking, reading her bible, taking walks and playing board games with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. Grandma got to meet all ten of her grandchildren before she passed away; her grandchildren just made her face light up. The last few things she said before she passed into eternal life was “Where’s my babies?” Which she was referring to her newest granddaughters that she had just met. And then after falling asleep and waking up again she said ”I was just dancing with Jesus.” My heart felt so good and I knew at that point she was at peace to cross over to eternity.
Rebecca is survived by her sister Alicia (Patricio), niece Jenny (Hamo) Daniel. Her eldest son William (Hannah) their five kids Maizy,Tava,Myles,Ivan, and Walker Whitlow. Her middle son Thomas (Fallon) and their two daughters; Wren and Harlow Whitlow.Rebecca’s youngest son Wyatt (Crystal) and their three kids Kaiden, Kyler and Kierra Whitlow. Her Cousin Mercedez and family, and many wonderful Godly friends. Rebecca is preceded in death by her mother and father Alicia and Carlos Cadenas, as well as her husband William Whitlow.
