CBP Explorers Graduate in International Falls

International Falls, Minn. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced that three students from International Falls have completed the requirements for their CBP Explorer badge. CBP hosted a graduation ceremony for the Explorers on Sunday, September 17, 2023.  The ceremony was held in the conference room at the International Falls Port of Entry.

The Explorer program is a branch of the Boys Scouts of America dedicated to helping teenagers explore career fields. CBP’s Explorer program is for students interested in law enforcement careers. To earn their badge, explorers have gone through several hours of training which included Customs Regulations, Immigration Law, Statutory Law, Radio Procedures, CPR and First Aid, Interview and Inspection Techniques, Arrest Techniques, and Use of Force. Former graduates of the program have gone onto to become police officers, sheriff’s deputies, military police, and CBP Officers.

CBP is accepting applications for new explorers. Meetings will begin in October. Anyone interested is encouraged to drop by the port of entry for more information or call (218) 283-2541.
