A first-generation American, Justice Liu helped launch the AmeriCorps national service program and clerked for judges, including Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg during the U.S. Supreme Court's October 2000 term, according to his court biography. Throughout his career, Justice Liu dedicated time and resources to researching diversity in the legal profession. "I've devoted a lot of my time outside the court to research," he told Law360 Pulse. "The thought behind that is, for many of these issues, it's really important to make the experiences of people visible."
