FAA Upgrades Malaysia’s Safety Assessment Rating
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announces that Malaysia has achieved an International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) Category 1 rating, and is in compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. The FAA IASA program focuses on a country’s ability to adhere to international aviation safety standards and recommended practices. The standards are set by ICAO, the United Nations’ technical agency for aviation.
