The programme performs solutions-oriented research that critically examines the financial landscape and provides expertise on the key sustainability transitions our economies must undertake. It also engages with relevant change agents to provide sustainability expertise to the financial sector and guidance to policymakers.

The team performs practice-driven research on sustainability, economics and finance. Our research currently focuses on mobilizing finance for achieving the SDGs in developing countries, mobilizing investment and finance for transitions to net-zero, raising the sustainability credentials and impact of “sustainable finance” practice, and enabling financial actors to combat deforestation and biodiversity loss.

The core of the research is done by SEI researchers. However, we collaborate on research projects with various national and international partners.
