SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
At about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, the Vermont State Police was called to a report of an unresponsive man in vehicle pulled over to the side of Vermont Route 105 in the town of Sheldon. Despite life-saving efforts by an individual who discovered the man in the car at about 8 a.m., the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation by VSP indicates the 40-year-old man likely experienced a medical event, and the death does not appear suspicious. An autopsy will be performed at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to confirm the cause and manner of death. The Vermont State Police investigation is continuing, but this incident is not considered criminal in nature. No further details are available.
