Iowa 3 west of Plymouth County Road K-22 to temporarily close on Tuesday, Aug. 9

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Aug. 4, 2022 – A bridge deck overlay project on Iowa 3, 0.4 mile west of Plymouth County Road K-22 requires closing the roadway to traffic for emergency shoulder repairs beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 9, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office.  The roadway will reopen to traffic Tuesday evening.

During this project, Iowa 3 traffic will be detoured onto Plymouth County roads K-42, C-38, and K-22.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
