Portion of US 59 Scheduled for Resurfacing
A portion of US Highway 59 southwest of Atlanta is scheduled to be resurfaced next year, according to plans approved in July by TxDOT.
“The resurfacing project will begin just south of FM 2328 North and end 1.9 miles south of FM 2328 South. The total project length is about 2.3 miles,” said Texarkana area engineer Tommy Bruce. “The project will also include some improvements to the bridge rail in that section along with new pavement markings.”
East Texas Bridge, Inc. of Longview was awarded the contract with a bid of $11.8 million.
Work is expected to begin in January 2023 and should be completed the following September.
