No wonder we have the same results as when we try to create the mango tree by trying to create the mango, as this is all we know and understand about the mango tree. When will man wake up to the reality about wisdom. Wisdom is an innate property of the brain. It is always there in every normal human being; waiting to be actualized. It is virtually a fragrance of the brain. More accurately it is a fragrance of the pure self. The pure self itself is a fragrance of the brain. We cannot define and explain a fragrance but we do produce hundreds of varieties of fragrances. We have a huge fragrance industry that generates tens of millions of jobs and billions of dollars of revenue. The day man wakes up to the even bigger potential of jobs and revenue from the wisdom industry, man will not only provide the badly needed stimulus plan for the economy; man will create the cure for much of the current mess in every section of human life at the individual, group and country levels. From personal happiness to defense budgets and wars, from poverty to divorce to everything else in life; it is all a function of the wisdom factor.
It is only logical that in spite of all the research in the mind sciences we are still unable to define or explain the mind, self, spirit, consciousness, self-consciousness and soul; let alone the relationships between these confusing phenomena; because these are all fragrances and if we insist on trying to define these phenomena; we will keep struggling for ever because fragrances are impossibly hard to define.
We are born with ignorance and the way our emotional self is set up; after birth, life experiences sculpture the self depending on the quality of the upbringing. Not only are many exposed to an unhealthy upbringing which means the ignorance instead of being removed becomes part of the emotional brain structure, which means part of the physical brain; the majority of parents provide their own false beliefs to the emotional brain structure. Even here in America we integrate beliefs that result in a trophy self image. Thus instead of the self growing into the pure self it grows up into a part phony self image. Thus we provide our own self ore, which prevents full self actualization.
The self starts off just like gold. As an ore, a mixture of purity and impurity: a mixture of ignorance and wisdom. In the case of gold, we take the gold ore and it by separating the gold from its impurities. As gold is purified its physical features become true to form. It shows off and becomes its golden color, shinny texture and malleability; ready in the hands of artists to be transform into dazzling jewelery.
Just imagine if we take the gold ore and add our own impurities to it and then without removing the impurities we polish and shine the gold ore and try to give it the looks and properties of pure gold. We can try all we want but we can never create in the ore the properties of pure gold. The attributes of pure gold are the properties of pure gold and if we want the qualities of pure gold we will have to physically change the gold ore into pure gold and completely get rid of the impurities. Imagine what would happen if those in the business of making pure gold just took the gold ore and tried to produce in it the properties of pure gold. What if they tried to create the shinning gold color and the malleability of pure gold in the gold ore. Would they ever succeed? Well this is exactly what we do when we try to become our pure self without removing the impure ignorance powered phony self; that we perceive as our self image. We not only leave the emotional impurities in the brain we even add our own impurities in the form of false beliefs and we expect the brain to act pure. No wonder; wisdom education is so frustrating and almost impossible because we try to produce wisdom attributes in wisdom ore.
