Omsk Refinery Adopts Mid-Term Investment Program

Omsk Refinery (ONPZ) has adopted a mid-term investment program. In 2011, the funding will amount to approximately 19 billion rubles. The program is designed to upgrade the ONPZ's production facilities and improve the HSE standards of the refinery.

One of the main projects under the investment program is the construction cat cracked gasoline and diesel fuel hydrotreating unit. The unit will produce Grade 4&5 diesel and gasoline. The rated capacity of the cat-cracked gasoline hydrotreater is 1.2 million tons per year, and that of the diesel fuel hydrotreater is 3 million tons.

In addition, 2011 will see the restructuring of KТ-1/1 deep crude conversion and alkylation facilities, which will lead to a much better quality of the products and improve the units' efficiency.

The projects, seeking to improve the HSE standards of the refinery, include the upgrading of air/nitrogen plant, the construction of a new heavy petroleum products tank farm, feed storage for the bitumen and coke production, LPG tank farm, H2S and alkali tank farm, and modification of domestic waste water treatment facilities.

The principal objective of the mid-term investment program is to improve the environmental properties of automotive fuels, increase the oil conversion rate, extent the range of high-octane gasolines, diesel fuels, coke, advanced bitumen materials, and petrochemicals.

REFERENCE:

Gazpromneft-ONPZ is one of the most advanced refineries in Russia. The ONPZ's installed capacity amounts to 19.5 million tons of crude per year. In 2010, the refinery processed nearly 19 million tons of crude. The output of useful products last year was 83.27%, this being one of the best ratings in the industry.
