Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Following the Microsoft Corp. server meltdown last month that caused thousands of T-Mobile Sidekick users to lose their contact numbers, photos and other personal information, T-Mobile USA has resumed sales of the phone.

Working day and night, Microsoft managed to restore the majority of the data that users lost, as well as offering a $100 gift card to the customers who were most affected.

The Sidekick, manufactured by Microsoft subsidiary Danger Inc., differs in that it is capable of losing all personal data when the batteries dies.

According to the Associated Press, “The data is then restored from Microsoft’s servers over the wireless network. When the servers went down in early October, Sidekicks lost e-mail and Web access, and phones that ran down their batteries or were reset lost all personal data.”

T-Mobile’s website is now listing the Sidekick handsets at a cheaper rate. For example, the LX model is now selling for $150, down from $175.
