Washington (Dawn.com): Finally Pakistan aid bill for US non military aid was finally approved by the US senate. The bill will be sent to the US President for signature. The US $1.5 billion annual aid to Pakistan through 1014 will be for the development of the infrastructure and education. The bill is being termed as a long term investment into a sole Muslim state that is a nuclear power.

Pakistan apex court says Nov.3, 2007 acts of the former President Pervaiz Musharraf are not condonable

Islamabad (Dawn.com): November 3, 2007 actions of the former President and the ex army general are not condonable said the Pakistan Supreme Court in its 343 pages detailed verdict. The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the act of Pervaiz Musharraf was illegal and unconstitutional. These actions included imposition of emergency and appointment of Judges.

Referring to the oath taking under the PCO Chief Justice, Abdul Hammed Dogar and other judges, the Chief Justice said, ‘They knew that some others were the rightful holders of those offices; they had no right in fact and they were not in possession of office by some colour of right and they were usurpers.’

Taliban not present in Balochistan - Balochistan Chief Minister

Quetta (Dawn.com): Referring to the media reports that Pakistan Taliban have shifted there base from Waziristan to Balochistan, the Balochistan Chief Minister, Aslam Raisani, negated the presence of Taliban in the province and said that all such reports are baseless. He said, ‘There are no Taliban in Quetta and adjoining areas and western media’s perception in this regard is totally wrong,’

Australia cruses into Semi Final - Defeats Pakistan in the ICC Champions trophy match

Profit taking bring the KSE-100 index down by 125.80 points

Karachi (Business Recorder): The share price index at the Karachi Stock Exchange lost their pervious level due to the profit taking spree by the investors. The index came down by 125.80 points to close at 9349.68 points. The fall in the KSE-100 index came after the market had reached the mid day highest of 113.20 points.
