SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On March 16, 2022 at approximately 2015 hours, Troopers from the Williston Barracks were conducting routine traffic enforcement along I-89 in the Town of Colchester when they observed two vehicles racing southbound near mile marker 94 in excess of 100 MPH. A traffic stop was initiated on one of the vehicles and the operator was identified as Christopher Thibault (27) of Colchester, VT. Thibault was released on citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division on June 7, 2022 at 0815 hours to answer to the charge of Negligent Operation. Thibault was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding which carries a waiver penalty of $572 and two points.

The other involved vehicle is described as a black 2014 Dodge Charger bearing Vermont registration KEB778.
