Prop. 57 doesn’t allow early parole for violent criminals, court rules
In a victory for prosecutors, the state Supreme Court ruled Monday that a 2016 ballot measure making prisoners eligible for parole consideration once they have served their sentence for a nonviolent felony does not apply to those who were also convicted of violent crimes.
