CA courts will use state income tax records for jury duty starting Jan. 2022

The current law allows the courts to randomly select jurors by voting and driver license registration. Senate Bill 592 will expand the pool of possible jurors that better reflect the state’s population. The Franchise Tax Board, who collects personal and corporate income tax of Californians, will be the ones providing the jury commissioner of each county with an updated list of resident state tax filers every year.
