AN ACT

Prohibiting certain per diem payments to members of the General

Assembly.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. Prohibition on per diem payments.

A payment made to a member of the General Assembly that is a

per diem payment, or would be considered a per diem payment

under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (Public Law 99-514, 26

U.S.C. § 1 et seq.), for days of services shall be prohibited.

Only actual expenses shall be reimbursable to an individual

member upon the receipt of documentation of the expense.

Section 2. Applicability.

This act shall only apply to payments made for individual

days of service. This act shall not apply to any other form of

compensation, including salary, benefits or reimbursed expenses.

Section 3. Effective date.

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
