Gov. Ricketts’ Office Corrects State Chamber’s Factually Inaccurate Comments on Blueprint Nebraska

LINCOLN – Today, the Office of Governor Pete Ricketts issued the following statement in response to the release of factually inaccurate information by the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Blueprint Nebraska.  Gov. Ricketts is a co-founder and advisory board member for Blueprint Nebraska.

“Nebraska is already a welcoming state for people of all backgrounds,” said Taylor Gage, spokesperson for the Governor’s Office.  “The Governor opposes adding additional protected classes to state law.  The State Chamber’s press release inaccurately characterizes Blueprint’s position regarding new protected classes.  The final Blueprint report did not support such a policy change, and the Blueprint steering committee has not voted to support such a policy.”
