Westbound I-80 traffic at the I-80/I-880 interchange in Pottawattamie County will be detoured Monday morning, Sept. 13

ATLANTIC, Iowa – Sept. 12, 2021 – At 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, westbound Interstate 80 traffic will be detoured in Pottawattamie County near the I-80/I-880 interchange while repairs are made to the pavement. The repairs are expected to be completed within 36 hours, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 4 Office.

Local travelers can expect a detour of up to one mile while regional travelers can expect a ten-mile detour.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
