Judicial Council is asked for rules on health safety for in-custody defendants
(Subscription required) The attorneys ask the Judicial Council to issue clear guidance to superior courts to ensure adequate safeguards are being enforced to protect the health of defendants waiting to appear in court. And it calls for the creation of a work group of court stakeholders to promulgate these standards. A spokeswoman said Tuesday the Judicial Council is reviewing the letter.
